Eyal,

To make it even more tempting... I work in Agoura (off the 101 between Reyes Adobe & Lindero Canyon). I usually have the TT on Fridays, if its not raining. email me directly at ca993twin@yahoo.com

Addison,

Congrats on your new TT! Have you posted pictures yet? What color? Maybe I can see it on the Malibu run?

Hey Steve,

Haven't had a chance to take pics and post yet but I will. It's black/tan and you will definitely see it on the next run.

Check the Feb 1 fun run thread, there is a pic there of the TT.

Steve, I am right off Kanan, we should hit the beach for lunch one Friday.

Fred,

Sounds great. Someday when I can sneak out for a 2-hour lunch! email me directly, and we'll do it. Maybe Eyal will join us? I may be able to keep up with you, now that I have the PSS-9s!

you may be able to keep up with him, but if you expect a 951 to join you, dont expect it to keep up with you. That and I'm still learning my car, so I'm not fast in the corners with this car yet. Maybe it will even things out a bit if you remove one of the two turbos? Anyway, I'd love to join if you guys do something some friday, I just need to fix my oil cooler first.

END OF THREAD HI-JACK:

So, who else will be joining us on the run and what are your reactions to the proposed route?

Sorry about that. I think the route sounds like the funnest route I have yet to drive. Should be lots of fun.

Hey Gilligan (aka Fred), That route looks great. I did part of that route, starting in Moorpark, through Ojai, and ending back on 101, about a year ago with Steve (OFE) pre Kinesis and assorted slippery slope stuff, and Scott Mellor. A beautiful drive through the Ojai area, but because of traffic have to take it at a more leisurely pace than our usual pace through the Malibu stuff. As the morning gets later, the traffic will of course increase. The turnout in the photo below overlooks Ojai Valley.

Professor (LeeR), glad you agree. The road between Santa Paula and Ojai is really fun, as is the stretch between Ojai and where the 150 meets PCH just south of Santa Barbara. If we leave early enough we should be OK. I did it at about 2 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon - even with light traffic it is a great cruise.

What time do you think is a good departure time? and what does everyone plan for the drive back, since we all have to come back.

By the way, fbfisher, were you on Ventura BLVD this afternoon? There was an identical car to whats in your avatar that was behind me for a while.

My guess is the usual 7:00 a.m. meet and a 7:15 departure in order to minimize confronting traffic. My guess is that some will go the "Supertramp" route and "take the long way home" while others will hit the fwy.

I don't think it was me on Thursday afternoon I was in Agoura and at 4:30 took Kanan to PCH up into Brentwood. My avitar photo makes my car look black, it is Ocean Blue with Classic Grey top and leather.

you guys should do a run up to the cold spring tavern, not to far from SB, lot of great twisties through the old stage coach roads.

Harry, can you be more specific about which roads and where Cold Spring Tavern is located? Thanks.

BTW, I'm an old 1968 912 owner, from 1974 to 1981. Mine had a 5 speed and a factory wood steering wheel. I think I bought it for $4000 and sold it for $4000 seven years later. I check out the 912 board every so often, and one of these times I'll make it up to Solvang for the 912 gathering. It looks like fun. Keep 'em on the road.

Lee, to be honest, i dont know where its at.. i was with someone and they drove, when we went there. i just figured all you so cal guys knew where its at.

im sure one of the santa barbra guys here, like phil or danno will know where its at. i think its on the way to one of the lakes up there that people get away to for the weekend...

it would be great to have you come out!! its not in solvang this year though. they moved it to monterey, so that the northern california 912ers would have it closer to them. i think next year it will go back to so cal.

oh mine has that wood steering wheel too! just wondering, you know any good ways of cleaning it with out ruining the finish, or making it slipperey? last fall before i put her away, i noticed the grip on the wheel felt really gritty, like it needs a good cleaning.
