Hi,
I just bought a 95's 993. The stereo has been changed to a Kenwood unit. I want to replace the Kenwood unit with a in-dash cd CDR210 which has a Porsche label on it. Does anybody has a luck to install a CDR-210 on a 95's 993? My 993 is a early 95 model which was built in 1994. Thanks in advance.

Cannot help you with stereo, but as a fellow 95 owner, I reccomend you take a look at two threads - Wire Harness problems and Window squeek.
If you do a search on this board you will find lots of info.

should not be a problem. in my 1993 RS America (964), i replaced the original Porsche CR-1 unit with a used CDR-210. will require a adapter plug for the CDR-210 has a different plug than the Kenwood or the CR-1 (i guess) that was there originally.
to locate a used CDR-210, you might try callling around the to radio shops that service your local porsche dealers. they often have used CDR-210a around or can get you one. have them install the them install the unit as they have the adapters and know-how. only took 30 minutes to install mine. i paid $250 for the cdr-210. if the used unit has a scratched or worn (removable) faceplate, you can buy a new one at the porsche dealer for about $100. with a new face plate, the used radio will appear new.

I recently replaced the OE Alpine CD player in my car with a CDR-210. If you have the Hi-Fi sound package like my car you will have to have an adaptor cable made to connect the pre-amp outs to the OE harness. You also need the power connection adaptor. Call Becker (888) 423-3537 and ask for Burl in the parts department. <img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" />

I just this weekend took an aftermarket radio out of my 95 993 and put an blaupunkt back in. I was very intimidated to start but it turned out to be very very easy. I would be glad to give you specific details about any part you have trouble with. You can email me at megmarc@aol.com or mmcglasson@bankofspringfield.com. Before you buy another wiring harness I would suggest you see what is already there. My after market radio that I took out was plugged directed into the original blaupunkt harness and they plugged directly into the back of my new radio. Please feel free to email with additional questions. MIck

Thanks for everyone. The replies were so fast. I will check if my car still has original connector.
