Default Wheel valuation help wanted

Wheels are off a 996 TTS, they are the dark GT Silver Metallic color. Wheels come with metal valve stems, and oem center caps included. Fronts are 8”x18”, ET 50, rears are 11”x18” ET 45. The rears were professionally refinished at Wheel Collision Center in June of 2013, and only saw usage for the remainder of that driving season. Both had very minor curb damage, not bent.

The color match was perfect, and to my eye the only noticeable consequence of that refinishing is build up of paint making the et number’s on one rear wheel...not as crisp.

Front wheels are factory original.

All four have very minor imperfections, not concours...but exceptional none the less.

I searched and found one listing from early 2018, for quite a bit of money...and going back to 2015 another set for less.

So, what would be a reasonable amount for these wheels?

Assuming these are the hollow spokes, my estimation would be around 1400-1700. With that said I’m not sure if these have any added value over the same spec’d regular 996 hollow spokes.

Hey Smash,
Can you wave a wand over the wheels and make the rears 10" ET65?

I bought a pristine set of wheels / tires (good tread, old date codes) from a 996 Turbo a few years ago off of CL, paid $500 for them. After determining they would not fit my 993 NB (doubted they would but figured I could make money) it took me quite a while to get $1000 for them. I hope you get more.

I agree with Nam - I sold a freshly refinished identical set a few years ago for $1500 but with 997 caps.

Smash....lol.

WB Hollow Spokes like this should sell for about $ 1000- they are not that rare in the 996 style like this, but I think they look fantastic on the 993.

This

And for the life of me I can't understand why folks line up to pay $3,000 to $4,500 and up for 993 WB Hollow Spokes while these are available. The 996 wheels are about 1/2 kg heavier, but it's worth it for the extra inch of width in the 11" rear wheels.

$2000 +/- $250 just for someone looking for the Turbo S look.

50% of that if just selling to a non-turbo S look seeker.

Any additional pricing suggestions, before I settle on an asking? I cross posted on the 996 TT forum, and got one sugggestion, and a request for price. I didn’t hear back from the gentleman. Suggested asking prices have been between $1-2k, some consensus would be nice.

I will never use these wheels again, so they need a new owner. Is $1750 plus shipping too much...$1500 closer? I don’t want to price them to sit, nor do I want to give them away...so to speak.

Pricing discussion ending in 3, 2......

Start at $1750 and see where it goes. I so wish they would fit mine.

that’s the price I mentioned on a PM to a 996TT owner who asked...gotta measure/weigh boxes to estimate shipping costs before I advertise them. That extra cash would come in handy...picking up the car tomorrow after a clutch, major engine out service, corner balance/alignment, as well as other pesky little while it was there things. Damn near 5 digits to the left of the decimal point...but after virtually nothing needed for 8 years, and 63k miles, well worth that investment.
