The consensus from past 3 spoke wheel swap threads is that an alignment will be needed to get the new wheel perfectly straight.

Mark,

Proper alignment of the 3-spoke wheel on a 993 is not a matter of "missing a few teeth". The splines, although the same size, are positioned differently. Two splines can be used to achive the most centered look. One is too far to the right and the other is too far to the left (very slightly, it may not bother some) - there is not a right one. The car must be realigned for a perfect look.

Yes, both John and Dan are correct. I've done this with two cars now and the car needs to be re-aligned to get a perfectly centered wheel.

Try before you buy. I, too, thought I had to have the 996 three spoke wheel until I sat in a friend's new TT and actually spent a few minutes holding the wheel. My hands are a large glove size and I did not like the wheel because the stiching on the swollen parts of the wheel at 10 and 2 rubbed my fingers when holding the wheel in the 9 and 3 position I would use most often.
