Ok, I have to say this but I have been following one particular auction and person taking advantage of the Porsche community. Yes, the one selling the "plastic" airbag crest for upwards of $40. Here it is in all its glory for $5.00! Well, and $3.50 for shipping.
Here it is: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/parkplac.../pocr3dst.html
I believe in fair commerce too but, really! So if you were looking here it is!

I'm nervous about fixing something like this to the what is essentially the air bag cover which will blow off at very high speed if you were unlucky enough to have a serious prang.
I presume there is no metal in these and that they are soft plastic. It would be nice to see what they look like on a wheel.

FYI: I was just looking at these. The one for $5 at Park Place is only 5/8" x 3/4". This seems very small for the steering wheel to me. The bigger one seems better.
Also, the smallest sticker at AJUSA is larger than the biggest one at Park Place. I have a feeling they are made of different material however. Not much detailed info on AJUSA regarding the sticker material. I think I'm going for the large one at Park Place.

WTH I just ordered both sizes. I never thought of doing this because 40.00 seemed crazy for a sticker. If I don't like them I will have spent 15 bucks for some stickers for my tool box. At least I won't feel violated and need to take a shower and seek help from a conselor. Thanks for the info L23

The crests at AJ USA appear to be stickers and not the laminate glossy ones at ParkPlace.

Absolutely, Mind-bending!!!

fyi the one at ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2455843093)
is approx1 and 3/4 high (precisely 1 13/16) by 1 3/8 inch wide
Sorry, for the folks in UK, as they probably have no idea what those numbers equate to in metric :-) ( answer 4.60375 cm x 3.4925)

I bought this last month off of ebay. There is no metal in the sticker and seems to be made very well. If anyone wants a pick of the steering wheel with the sticker, let me know. The smaller one would look too funny.

Come on UK'ers, defend your measurement system, someone's accusing you of being Metric! Remember the Mars Climate Orbiter?
Mission specifications called for using metric units, but the Lockheed group sent navigation information in English units...
And from the UK Metric site:
Distance signs and speed limits are exclusively in miles, yards and miles per hour, whilst feet and inches predominate in height and width restrictions.
