Silver - Polor vs Artic
Can anyone post pic of these colors? I'm wondering what the difference is. Were these colors released for '96 & '97 widebodies? Still looking for that one car, but still learning from you guys first.
Thanks!
Ted

Ted check this out:
My 993 in the foreground is Polar Silver and the C4S in the background is Arctic Silver (I believe). Note polar has a slight blue cast or tint that varies according to light conditions and viewing angle. Hope this helps.

From what I know(which is not much), 95 and 96 had Polar Silver, 97 and 98 had Artic Silver.
Sooo... 96 C4s and Turbo are the only wide body with the P.Silver, 97 and 98 C2s(CS), C4s and turbo are A.Silver.

Forgot to mention, it's a beautiful color, but your SOL if you get any scratches. Like all metallic paints, it's difficult to get a good paint chip repair.
To do it right, you need to have the panels repainted..
Here's my unfortuante scratches on my hood:

It was also available in '97, and i gladly paid the amount Viken quoted. It's available again as special order on 996.

Once again, from what I know:
95 and 96, Polar Silver(option color) $1695. Artic Silver (paint to sample option) $2995.
97 and 98, Artic Silver(option color) $1695. Polar Silver (paint to sample option) $2995.
Please correct me if wrong.

KC,
"Metallic paint" option was $1036 (not $1695) and "special exterior color" was $2955.
Metallic or non-metallic "paint-to-sample" colors were $4150.

Now that I see the difference, they both look nice to me and I'll take either color that comes along.

Jeff,
Your series of Mt. Hamilton drive pics are valuable to compare side by side ride heights of both cars. It seems the turbo is riding higher than the 4S.
Which suspension does each vehicle have?
Thanks.

Jeff,
You need to buy my used (less than 4000 miles) ROW Turbo springs and rear shocks. I'll give you a great deal. Ask Kim (aka Silver Bullet)about my used parts--better than new.

Yup Luis..
The artic silver C4s has pss9's installed.
The polar silver TT has USA M030 installed.
I'm still weighing suspension options right now. It's a toss up between the pss9's and the row m030 with Bilstein HD shocks...

see http://p-car.com/porsche/garycable/ for a picture of Artic Silver Porsche. Unfortunately I have not figured out how folks are posting pictures on this board or I would be able to save you the trouble of clicking your way to it.
