What bad trend? They're out of print. Porsche may never print another set.

Look again, there aren't any bidders!!!!

You can put any asking price you want on an item; doesn't mean it'll sell.

No bids, and I hope it stays that way, may common sense prevail!

This is absurd. Who would contemplate paying that much. I'll keep my electronic copy. This justifies obtaining copies offshore.

Thats right... something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Someone needs to tell that to some of the dealer trying to sell cars for outrageous prices. The mirror disco ball porsche comes to mind. I guess PT barnum was right sometimes.

You guys remember this auction ?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2451789232

pay attention to the seller and buyer, he is the guy who bought it at $911 on Jan 5th, and now trying to sell it for minimum of $900 (after he used it for a week or so)

Gerry,
I saw that and thought the same thing. He even used the same picture as the original seller. Most likely could have joined rennlist and saved $1000. I nominate you for the "Hey,Wait for me racing, Internet Detective" position

It is possible, but looking at the bid history of the 1st auction
with 35 bids by 10+ bidders. and over 4 bidders competing in the final 30 minutes. It will be hard to stage and not get caught by ebay.

If there's a set of manuals (in print or CD) that are being given away, I'm first in line!!!

I knew it!!! I was following the original auction weeks ago and was willing to go up to about $300. And within the last 2hrs, it went to about 500 and I'm thinking "that's nuts; I wonder where it will end up." Then it ended at $911. THAT did it! Now I'm upset! I told my wife "I bet this guy knows they're unobtainable and he's gonna try and make some money off this." This kind of opportunism really angers me.

Edward

Superb sleuthing, Gerry!
