Porter Cable 7424
I did a search on Porter cables polisher and I got
a bunch of threads on which porters are better
Colorado Rocky Mountian railroad vs Amtrack
and which porter tastes better Sierra Nevada
or Anchor Steam. Another bunch of threads on
cable vs DirecTv and Tivo.
is Coastaltool.com the best price @ $119?
I went to Home Depot yesterday and they
told me they could special order it for
$250. I thought it a tad much.
can I order from Coastaltool with confidence??

No problem w/Coastal & they include the essential hook & loop backing pad in their $119 package price. I've been pleased w/the pads I've purchased from Classic Motoring Accessories. Another quality source is Top of the Line. You can read about the different pad choices on either site.

I bought on from Coastal Tools two weeks ago. They have a special package that comes with a 6 inch counterweight and a velcro pad. It all arrived as promised, with no problems. I bought pad from Classic Motoring Accessories ( http://www.properautocare.com/ ), again with no problems.
Over the weekend I used my new Zaino stuff, the PC and the pads to work on my 4Runner. It was easy and results were great. This weekend, my 993.

OG,
If you did not get it, call coastal and get the couter weight for the 6". It will cut down on vibration when using the PC.
I also second Dan's advice on CMA or Top of the Line. Actually the pads are the exact same pads made by Lake County. TOL is a little less expensive than CMA. I have purchased from both though. Get more than one pad of each type you plan on buying because it allows you to use different products easier and does not require to constantly clean them during use. The number of pads you use on one car will depend on many factors such as what you are trying accomplish, what product you are using, your skill level, and the condition of the car. Check out http://www.autopia.org/forums/index.php for some really indepth instruction for using the PC. That said the thing is almost fool proof so experiment. The more you use it the better you will get.
Beginner trick and advice. Put the product on the bad in and smear it around the area you plan to work (work in 2' x 2' areas) before you turn on the PC. When product is on the pad don't turn on the PC before placing it on the car or lift it off the car when the product is still wet.....if you do you will end up with polish and/or wax all over you, the garage, and everything in the garage.
