Any chance that ABD was standard and LSD was an option?
I know that ABD is 224 and LSD is 220 and that both was P08 but the dealer/broker swears that ABD/LSD was standard on 1998 C2S.

I believe the dealer is incorrect. Neither were standard on the '98 C2S.

I can vouch for one more '98 C2S (mine) that doesn't have ABD or LSD- it's a November 1997 build date, if that makes any difference.
It would also seem to me that even if it's standard, it would still appear on the option codes. For instance, even the catalytic converter appears on the option codes...
I have also heard (from the archives and word of mouth) that the factory LSD is very, very short lived, which makes it not very attractive to me. ABD I'm undecided on, but I'm perfectly content in spite of its absence on my car. Long term, if repairs present an opportunity, I could be talked into a Quaife, though!

It is amazing the misinformation that dealers propagate. My 1998 Carrera S does not have ABD or LSD...don't think you can get them as separate items, in any case. Viken?

They do have seperate option codes but I don't know about ordering them seperately. Every car that I have seen has them both.
I've learned things during this buying process that almost make me want to buy a golf cart instead of a used car. What people advertise doesn't seem to be based on any sort of reality.

Also, when you ordered P08, ABD was automatically included.

Okay, they come together and you could not get them separate. As for short lived, mine still works with 110k miles. THey were not standard on the Carrera S.
