I didn't take it as if he thought the Bad Boys car Was in fact a 993TT. When he said, " These cars", I just assumed he meant that that movie is what got him interested in Porsche 911 Turbos in general, and the 993 was the next generation of the 964, he just went with the next latest and greatest thing after that movie.
I loved that scene / car as well, but I have always thought the 993TT to be my favorite styling of Turbo to date. Maybe he did too.
Maybe the OP will clear that up for us....
