Boris - Is it similar to the ones that S Car Go makes on a custom order basis? or is it mass-produced? A rollbar is on my to-buy list, so I'd be interested in price, vendor, etc if you don't mind (or you can PM me).

Look forward to seeing the pics. Thanks.

David-

My custom rollbar was just finished. Notice how the rear strut follows headliner back toward rear window. I do not know of a bolt-in rollbar that does this.

Cool Brad, where do the rear points mount?

I saw Brad's car last weekend on our drive. The roll bar he had made is even better looking than the photo. It's a work of art.

I second that. His rollbar was beautiful. There was some custom welding involved to get the rollbar mounted properly. But the workmanship looked top notch.

I'm almost afraid to ask Brad how much it cost.

I have no shame. I asked. It cost less than I expected for a custom job that looks that good.

Yep - that was a sweet roll bar (as roll bars go). I didn't have the gumption to ask him what it cost, other than to say "I bet that cost a lot more than a DAS bar." I believe the rear mounting points are in the back dash. Brad's car looked very set-up for the track in a very stylish way.

Perhaps the bar bolts into the seat belt retractor area? Who made this bar? I like it!

Hey Guys-

Thanks for all the positive comments! It is thanks to all you for posting all the great ideas!

Rear mounting points are plates welded just under the rear window--the very lower, outside portion of rear deck panel. The speaker panel is notched and fits like a glove around the tubing.

Regarding cost, let's just say I like my rollbar more than 2 DAS rollbars. Whenever I see mass produced rollbars, from the sideview of the car, you can always see the rear strut bars bisecting the side windows--maybe I'm just too picky! Another reason I did it this way is that the horizontal harness brace is removable & rear struts are high enough that I can still fit a baby seat for my daughter. That is, after I install padding.

OK, now a little plug for John Holleran of Holleran Performance and Fabrication. He's in Pinole, CA just north of Berkeley. He worked for someone for over 10 years building/restoring pre-993 911's. Super honest guy who learned from his career machinist dad. John recently was working for S CAR GO but opened his own shop.

I'll post some better pics this weekend.

Really enjoyed meeting some of you on the Bay Area drive and look forward to the next time!

Cheers, Brad

Cool Brad. So I assume you lost the rear speakers and teh rear bars go straight through the grills? Very cool.

I agree about the mass produced bars not fitting. I have the prototype OG Racing 993 bar in my car and it fits like a glove. They are now selling them to the public.

E.J.-

Still have speakers working because rollbar is at the corner of the large panel which the speakers are mounted to. I'll take pics this weekend and post.

Do you have pics of your rollbar? I'd really like to see it!
