Enclosed Transport
Doing a search shows pretty uniform satisfaction with Intercity and Reliable, with pros and cons for Horsless carriage. Anyone use Passport Transport? I've heard good things but not firsthand. Any other recommendations? Especially cheaper ones? If it makes a difference, the car would be trasported to California. Not sure where FROM until I find the right car.
Thanks,
Thanks,

I think all you need to know about cheaper transport for your soon-to-be p-car can be found on the thread covering B-Line's experience shipping his car from Florida to L.A. Just find his thread in the archives & do the exact opposite of whatever he did! <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" />

Yeah, actually I did read it, that's what convinced me to stick with an enclosed name brand!
He's more patient than me. I'm from Texas, I'm well armed, have little patience, and in his position I'd probably be wearing an orange jump suit and leaving the soap on the floor where it landed, if you know what I mean.

Passport Transport is moving a 1998 993 for me now -- from the East Coast to Los Angeles. Should be here in a few days and I'll let you know how it goes.
I considered Inter-City Transport; but, they had a mimimum 2 week wait for a pick up. I was told drivers who are normally on the road much of the year were starting to take weeks off to spend the holidays with their families. The prices at the 2 companys were comparable, although Passport quoted higher at first.
Also, be prepared for it to take 10 to 14 days to receive the car; these companys tend to cluster 6 cars in a truck with drop-offs and pick-ups along the way. So it takes some time.
In case you are interested in a 1995 993 Black/Tan in great condition with 51,XXX miles that is already on the West Coast, I just listed mine for sale in the Rennlist Classifieds. Also, here's a pictures/features link:

I used Passport Transport in August to transport from Ohio the '96 993 that I had just purchased. They were very professional to deal with and my '96 993 arrived in perfect condition. I highly recommend them. (P.S. They are the original closed transporters for high-end cars. So successful that FedEx purchased them a year or two ago.)
