Default WTB: 993 6spd C2 (only) Transmission

If any of you have one laying around let me know. Needing rebuild OK. Going to be re-geared anyway. Hoarding parts for next phase of my 964 build.

I don't want to have to buy a c2 Convertible to part out the engine/trans!

I wouldn't even want to know what the going rate is for a 993 6sp Manual Transmission.

There's a place in Sun Valley that has a bunch and I'm not talking about the junk yard... They all seem to end up there one way or another.

I just had my 6sp 993 G64 Transmission rebuilt to GT2 specs .... let's just say it wasn't cheap! Parts alone are INSANELY priced now.

C'mon. Help a guy who has consistently been a parts seller without paying vendor membership fees for years. He may be a Nigerian Prince living in Russia.

Don't do it. The synchros on the 993 are a nightmare and so tender. And you can't change 2nd without spending mainshaft money. A properly built 964 5psd is a true joy. We did one for Joe Rogan and now Alex@Sharkwerks is doing his. It's going to be offered as a kit, with or without mainshaft, by the end of the summer. I see zero compelling reason to put a 6spd into a 964 except that Singer did it...

Exactly! The Synchros in the 993 are Brass. When I had the GT rebuild done we replaced all the Brass Synchros with Steel.

I have the non fog variant from Better Bodies and I'm about to order another set for a second car. Solid product.

Hmm... ok, would CMS or Bill Rader have info on the gearing recommendation & Pricing?
Thanks

Yeah. contact Bill. He's got Alex's gearbox waiting from him when he gets back from Werks Reunion.

To the above post, steel synchros in 2nd are a good upgrade, but they still don't protect how delicate the little dog teeth are. And more importantly, you can't change the ratio because it's stuck on the main.
