Matt, CAA, Speedraser, jford, stedge, everyone thank you for help. Here I am a perfect stranger and getting so much positive feedback. Just a testiment to the quality of this website.
Stedge, I actually test drove the STI yesterday and took a close look at the EVO today. Both have alot of performance to offer, but nothing close to the classic lines of the 993. They are offering these cars at invoice, 29k-30k. I'm certainly considering them if the car I'm looking at goes for $34k plus then $2k for 30k maintenance.

Speed - Wholesale from Manheim. I don't really follow Ebay auctions. Why don't we wait and see where the auction tops out? Should be fun... I say 33k tops.

I also did not have a good experience with Mark Starr at Huntingridge motors. I put a deposit down one their 2011 GT silver GT3. Vin WP0AC2A97BS783359
In the end my deposit was refunded very quickly, but it was a waste of time on both sides and PPI cost that could have been avoided by proper disclosure upfront
statements made by HRM
1 small over rev
all original paint, I measured it myself
everything works
no dings, car is perfect
tires are good at least 50%
PPI revealed
over revs in range 5
rear bumper repainted, possibly replaced
sport exhaust not working
small ding in rear wheel well
5mm crack in front rotor
front tires at 2.7mm and mismatched with rears
Mark Starr also made a comment twice that danbury Porsche does not like his business and he hoped it would not influence the PPi. When asking Danbury Porsche about HRM they said they had not heard good or bad.
This may not be an issue for some, but the discrepancy of the statements vs PPi discovery removed the trust necessary for me to complete a remote transaction.

I almost bought a 964 from them-until the PPI at Rennwerke Porsche Technicians (VERY highly recommended) uncovered a slew of needs (about $6k worth). That is not completely a reflection on Huntingridge, although at least one of the items (an aftermarket spoiler not painted the exact color of the car and that didn't quite show in the photos) was misleading.
My advice would be to spend the $200 and have Cheech at Renwerke (they have a web site) inspect the car-best investment you can make.
PM me for more info if you want to.
