Greg, let me know how much the Flowmaster weighs, I was considering a custom x pipe(in the cat cavity) going out to the rs mufflers, the FM setup might be lighter..this is my primary goal with the headers, trying to reduce weight at the rear and improve HP if possible. Looks like maybe using stock system with minimal weight mufflers and no cat for track use would be the best..perhaps stripping the heat exchangers off of the stock exh and bagging all the heat stuff too?...I have found systems from SCARGO,B&B, and CARGRAPHIC so far..any others? Thanks a bunch for the input, I realize that there are no large gains hiding here, just trying to find out about all the options, lightweight and extra HP being the ideal...

Since I am concerned about passing 92 db sound levels at Laguna, can I delete the Cats with my RSR mufflers and still pass??</strong><hr></blockquote>

On my 964 RSA, I run SCarGo 1 3/4 x 26" headers with a series 80 Flowmaster. I have no problems with Lime Rock's 89 db limit.

While not a 993 I thought some might be interested in this pic of a 964 engine w/ the Flowmaster muffler Steve mentioned

The muffler itself weighs 14# by itself, 23# w/ pipes, tips, bands etc. as compared to 42# for the stock 964 pieces. The pipes are 2.5" ss and can be cut and welded by most any competant muffler shop.

The headers are B&B 1.75". The complete setup will be transfered to my 3.8 993RS engine.

Here is a pic of the fixins;

Bill,
Thanks for the pictures. Is your car a street or track only vehicle?

Glen looks like Bill answered your questions pretty well. I may do this over the winter. I don't run at many noise restricted tracks and I have the baffles that came with the supercups if I need them, but it still might not be enough.
