Looking for a 1995 Steering Wheel
I am looking for a 1995 steering wheel to send to Carsdream in Poland to be modified. Any color or cosmetic condition is fine. But, it has to be a 1995 steering wheel with the deep-set air bag retention frame. The below photo is the one I need. I mistakenly believed that you could swap the frames in the steering wheel. This doesn't work. I have a nice Cedar Green leather air bag so going to a 96 or later wheel is not an option. And, I don't want to send my carbon fiber steering wheel in despite the cracking in the carbon fiber. It is still too special.
I seem to have my hand out on several recent post. But, I have my hand on my wallet too! TIA

Hi Chuck:
Do you know the part# of the steering wheel you need? I have a spare black 4 spoke steering wheel that I was going to get it re-wrapped, but not sure at this point.

Thanks guys. The part numbers are pretty murky. I believe that the 1995 steering wheel is 993.347.804.50 or 52, The best way to identify a 1995 steering wheel is by the air bag retention ring. The first photo is for the 1995 wheel. The second photo is for a 1996 or later.
Because I am having it recovered, any cosmetic condition or color is fine.

FWIW, some '96's have the earlier steering wheel. I ran into that with my early-build '96 when swapping out the ring due to weakened grommets which caused the ring to sag and, ultimately, sound the horn.

I'm also looking for a black non-tiptronic steering wheel but not necessarily the air-bag if anyone has one spare. Has to be in good condition as I want to get rid of one that isn't.

Sorry Chuck- my spare wheel ends with 55, and is the shallower one of the two, dated 96. I also disassembled my original 95 wheel, dated 94 for comparison ( not F/S). There are a few differences. Could you tell why this would matter if you’re swapping out the entire wheel/air bag?
