Shop Manuals on Ebay
A set of porsche shop manuals went for nearly $1K on ebay:

I've got to wonder if the bidder was serious - the winning bid was $911.00, after all...
If the PCNA folks are reading this, get a clue - there's definitely demand out there for another publishing run of the manuals!

I was watching that auction and evenbid up to $230 - yikes. I have had a set on back order through My-porsche for a year but their price was $287.
$911!!! I can't even get more than $50 for a set of eshaust tips. crazy.

Darn.. I think I am going to stop wine speculating and switch to Porsche Manuals. Triple your investment in 9 years is pretty reasonable. If only they still had the Cabernet covers, it would be perfect...

I had emailed the guy when he first listed it and asked if there was a buy it now price. He said there wasn't one and he was selling it for his dad...was hoping to get $250 for it...little did he know!

Yeah, I was following that auction from the get go. At the last hour it ratched up from about $400 and change to $911. I thought it had to be a joke....I mean $911 for a 911 manual!!!
I was wondering if it's possible that someone who forks over that kind of dough for a shop manual is speculating that he can make more $$ through, ah hem, other "uses" for the manual. Forgive my suspicion, especially if that buyer is on this board.

Viken had deleted my post offering the manuals I had for free, (something about copyright infringement). I could see his point if the manuals were readily available to anyone or if I was trying to sell them. As it stands, I made all these copies and they're just sitting on my desk.

So as not to get Viken into any trouble and/or jeopardize my presence in the 993 Rennlist community. If there is anymore interest, please feel free to drop me a line:

Viken's admin deletion of your prior post (or perhaps your most recent one as well) has nothing to do w/getting Viken into "trouble," but rather keeping Rennlist out of trouble by eliminating any post that violates Rennlist's TOS (excerpted below) & which could subject Rennlist/John D. to liability.
Simply, regardless of whether one agrees w/the law, the pirated CD manuals are illegal & their open distribution through Rennlist is prudently prohibited.
