Default 98 C2S - BBS E88 & 997 GT3 Sport Seats

Thanks MINICORSA for always taking my car wether it be dumb stuff or track day prep and maintenance. Installed e88 and 997 GT3 Sport Seats I bought of a member here with a 993. i had 996 hardbacks and never liked them. Way too cushy, didn’t feel any bolster support. Felt like you sat on them, not in them. Loved 997 sport seats from my old gt3 and 991gts so thought I’d try them even though I had the newRecaro sportster on order which keep getting delayed. But think I’m cancelling that order now. The Alcantara centers work so well, as I have a Alcantara wrapped dash, steering wheel and headliner.
Also only driver seat installed as the passenger seat doesn’t arrive till tomorrow. And if ANYONE NEEDS 996 HARDBACK SPORT SEATS let me know. They need cleaning up and some stuff taken care but will let go cheap

Sorry to ruffle the purists feathers, but the 997 sport seats just feel right. The oem of both previous generations, aren’t very supportive. The only reason I went to the GT2 buckets, is for use of hans/harnesses through seatback. Looks great!

the wheels look great!!
do the 997 seats sit any lower than the 996 sports? i have the 996 sports in my 993 also and they sit higher than the stock seats. curious if the 997 seats lowered you any in the car.

They have a manual (ratchet) lift/lower of seat bottom. Not sure if it “ratchets” lower than the 996 seats, mounted in a 993, but they did go down pretty low.

would of loved Gt2 buckets. But more than I wanted to spend. And had sportsters on order but kind of over it. I agree. I hated the 996 sport seats. Not supportive and too cushy.

It feels like they do, but not sure they actually do. Might be due to the bolstering but the car feels so much better. Firmer seat transmits the cars sensations better and actually holds u in place. The seating position does feel lower but doesn’t look it when just looking at the seat pad height.

Nice round of mods! What did you end up with for wheel and tire specs?

Which sliders and seat belt buckles did you use with the 997 seats?

Whatever the previous owner had on them(seats). So not sure.

Wheels did 18x8.5 et 48 / 18x11et38 was bbs recommenders spec and Tramont recommends that too.

I am a pro at this now. 😜😜😜😜 All you do is a small modification to the front/rear of the existing 997 seats rails. Then they bolt directly into your seat receptacle/floor nuts. Toss the 997 buckle, and bolt your existing 993 female receptacles, to new seats.

Those seats & dash – look amazing, but that's one hell of an ugly steering wheel!

It’s funny. People either really love it or think it’s hideous. I get a 50/50 mix. It’s an old techart wheel
