Could someone refer me to the whereabouts of doing the override switch referenced? I was in recent gridlock of stop and go traffic for an hour and my temp was close to the 10 o'clock position. It's never done that before; usually the gauge is around 8 o'clock.
Thanks,
Fred

8:00 even in traffic, or while cruising?

Oil cooler override info: https://p-car.com/diy/fanswitch/

If your temp is nearing 10 o'clock, your low speed fan may not be turning on. Check the function of your oil cooler resistor. https://www.bergvillfx.com/fanresistor

Actually if nearing 10 on the street, high might not be on either.

I think that same link also shows you how to test if they are working. You jump 2 terminals in the relay for low, 2 others for high. I did that, plus idled/revved until I got to like 9:15/9:30 for the low, and very slightly higher for the high. They are remarkably close in terms of trigger points, actually.

I wish the low fan would come on more like 8:30, but alas.

Agreed. I often wonder why the engineers chose to let the oil get so much hotter than the thermostat point before activating the fan. Perhaps it was in the pursuit of noise reduction?
