Default New Kinesis 18" K28R rims photos

AS promised I said I would post some pix of the 993 with the new rims. I had them shot peened and hard anodized a charcoal grey, much darker then the original Kinesis color. the lips are polished alu. They are 18" with 225-40 front and 285-30 rear. I bought S03's Bridgestone tires from wheel enhancement and paid $10 over what the tire rack was selling the tires for. (not too bad considering I didn't have to pay shipping from like Tennessee) Wheel Enhancement mounted them without any issues.. Plus I gotta add that the Pirelli Rosso's that had before were extremely difficult to drive compared to the S03's. There was limited feedback and when they let go, they LET GO! I'm sure that the extra 2 inches of width on the new 285's help with traction a bit as well, but now I'm starting to feel comfortable in this car ( compared to my old 964, which I was very comfortable with, and that took me about 5 years to learn!) kim-

They were done at Kinesis during manufacturing. The surface is not smooth, the shot peening leaves it kind of rough.. really nice. you ever get a tractor?

Nice wheels. Is that a pitot tube on the front of the car in Picture No. 1? What is the option code for an airspeed indicator?

Very cool, how much lighter are those over stock cup wheels?

I guess I should have said "under cup wheels?"

Really Great wheels. I found that the 285/225 was a great look but really unbalanced the car, big push and less stable in the twists. I went back to 265/225 and like the ride and handling much better. I think the difference in width is closer to an inch not two (unless you were adding both sides together) though I could be wrong.

Bring it down for a Malibu Fun Run some time.
