Looking for a shop named Garretson on the peninsula somewhere. Possibly in Mountain View. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

I did a couple of searches also and coulnd't find anything.

Interestingly, I searched on the address that silver bullet gave, and it appears that there's a company called <a href="http://farperformance.com/" target="_blank">Far Performance</a> there. It doesn't look like a porsche shop from the web site.

Randy, why are you trying to find this shop? Perhaps we could recommend another in the area, if necessary.

I am looking for a shop in the south bay area that will do a thorough PPI. I have exchanged several Emails w/ an owner of a C4S that frequents this site and pending a PPI it'll be mine soon (round 2). My sister takes her car to Kahlers in Dublin. Opinions? Any other recommendations?

Tony Heyer (Heyer Performance) is at 2235 Old Middlefield. You could check with him about the shop you asked about or having him do a PPI.

Hi Randy - call Don Wise at CT Automotive in Campbell (408-377-3885). His shop is quite good and they do a very thorough PPI. If you want to go one step further and have a cosmetic PPI done, you could also call Del at Del's Body Shop in San Jose at 408-295-7446. Don may be able to have the car taken to Del for you if you wanted that done as well. Del is an exceptional expert on Porsche body work. If he says the car looks good you can bet it does.

Having had experience with both Del's and Tony Heyer's shops, I can recommend them both whole-heartedly. Del may not be taking new customers (going into semi-retirement), but you can try.

I've talked to Don at CT about the car in question. He said the car is in excellent shape. He said I wouldn't even need a PPI on it. He services the car for the current owner. I'm thinking that it would be prudent as a potential purchaser to get a totally unbiased opinion from an impartial party. Or should I take Don's word for it? Would I just be spending money for a PPI when I dont need to?

Hi Randy - I have known Don for a while and pumped thousands into his retirement fund. With the history I have with his shop I would have no problem taking his word in lieu of a PPI. I would still want a body shop to take a peak at the car if I were buying it sight unseen.

This is a tough call for you, however, as you do not know Don. It certainly cannot hurt to have a second shop look at the car. Jerry Woods' shop is right down the street from Don and I am sure Tony Heyer's shop would do a nice job as well.

The mere fact that the car has been maintained by CT Auto is a good sign. They do not cut corners on anything they do (which often leaves owners like myself having to suck it up and pay the few extra hundred dollars).

Hi guys,

Actually the car that Randy is interested in, is my car.

I'm still having withdrawal symptoms every now and then though.

Other places that I've brought my car to is RMG Enterprises and Custom Alignment.

As for Jerry Woods, I tried to make a service appointment but at that time, they had a 2 months waiting list.

Would anyone care to elaborate on Pin's car? He swears that he has never done donuts or participated in the Sears Point grudge matches

I've gone on several drives with him and what impressed me was the condition of the paintwork was near flawless. The usual front bumper stone chips and other misc chips/etc were not there. Well, at least compared to my car.

Pin has probably already forward these links to you, but in case he hasn't, here are some pics from some of the drives that we've been on:

<a href="http://www.cuberootconsulting.com/gallery/album31" target="_blank">Mt Hamilton Drive</a>

<a href="http://www.cuberootconsulting.com/gallery/album86" target="_blank">Peninsula Tour</a>

Also, the pss-9's that he installed ride very nicely, imho. I'm planning to get the pss-9's in the near future as well.

I am not sure, Eric. I do feel like an idiot though for trying to sell my car.

Thanks for the kind words, Jeff We probably should do another drive soon. Btw maybe we should go to Speedring one of this weekend? Matt (H20NOO) is the fastest Rennlister at Speedring
