Hey Mark, guess what, one of my other cars is a Thema V6. I didn't choose it (I just ended up with it because my parents live abroad now), but its very good. However mine is the earlier 2.8 version, tops at only 210kmh...

Riccardo,
My daily 17 mile commute to work was cruising the highway from Lago Patria to Naples at 110 mph.
It was weird because after driving 110 mph twice daily for 2 years (the local police didn't care if anyone speeded and thus would never pull you over), I became very comfortable driving that fast. When I'd occasionally push it faster I felt out of my comfort zone.

WOW, Awesome car!
I would be Thrilled just to go 30mph in that car.

I am going to bump this old thread....because it is a good one!
I just got my 993 and have not driven it that fast but I did get my 740 up to 148 when it started bouncing off the programmed speed limiter. Do the older Porsches have these?

Hi fellow speed freaks,
Living in Germany, and near some rather nice autobahns, I get the opportunity to explore the top end capabilities of my '95 C4 quite frequently. Infact, driving at over 200 km/h is almost a daily affair. I expect that there is some over estimation of the speedo when using 17 inch wheels, vs the standard 16 inch. So my 290 km/h (180 mph) indicated may need some fine tuning.

My Speedo is way off at very high speeds and I sense that the same can be said for that insane pic earlier in this thread. I've hit 150 on the dial, but I think it's more like 140 actual. at 80 mph the actual speed is 76 (4 MPH fast). I know this isn't unusual in 911's. Both of mine have had similar issues.

On I 10 elevated portion over the Atchafalaya Spillway in Louisiana in my 1996 C4S.....Early Sunday morning out with a friend in a modded NSX,,,I out accelerated him to about 170 and then he slowly passed me....he had a little more top end. I owned that car for 8 years and then owned a 97 TT for about 12 years....Funny I never had the same opportunity to open up the TT...fasted run was about 150 in that car...
