Post Feather duster recommendation

I thought I saw a post here a while ago about recommended dusters; feather, silicone impregated or otherwise. I did a search but couldn't find it. Any recommendations? It's pollen season here in California. Thanks,

Greg

Tell me about it! A few days ago, I parked my freshly cleaned midnight blue metallic (almost black) 993 under some pine trees. Now, it could be mistaken for speed yellow! (I have nothing against speed yellow paint, it’s just massive quantities of speed yellow pollen dust that pisses me off!) I use a “California Car duster.” Sometimes it leaves some wax streaks, but it’s better than the pollen. I also use the Meguiar’s quick detailing spray on occasion.

Been using the California dusters for about 4 years and like them a lot. Noticed it works best when new duster is air dried on a newspaper for about two days. Also works best when paint is cool.

Maguires Final Inspection works well for dirty areas you rather not use the duster for.

The CA duster works well! I highly recommended it if you're **** (oops, I mean consciencious) about dust on a clean/waxed car. The duster gets filthy, but still manages to lift surface dirt really well. Make sure the car is cool to the touch, however. If not, you'll get some harmless but visible little streaks, perhaps from the impregnated silicone(?) coming off onto a warm surface.

These dusters nicely keep things looking good between washings.
Both Restoration Hardware and Brookstone have these little gems.

I use a Calif Car Duster also, however I noticed that the really fanatical Concours people use a wool duster on a stick (available at Home Depot) for final touchup. These probably would work better than the wax impregnated ones when the surface is hot to the touch.

I hate using California Duster, it leaves some sort of wax on the car. I used Meguiars finishing spray with those yellow super soft-cotton cloth. It looks like as if I'm washing the car each time I go and park the car.

Peace!

Hi Greg,

You should be able to find it at Kragen's or most stores like Pep Boys, etc.

Or you can go to <a href="http://www.carcareonline.com" target="_blank">www.carcareonline.com</a> and get it from there.
