Viken,

Based on the pictures you posted, the Speedline Alesios look very similar to the RS speedlines but are not identical. The 'bolts' on the RS rims stand proud of the rim while based on the picture of the Alesios, these bolts are recessed.

I didn't know that Speedline never sold the RS rims themselves. Thanks for that! <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Rick,
Look at the new wheels from Kinesis with the reverse drop rim halves. It allows them to use a true 18" center (the same ones used in the 19" rims) instead of the 17" ones that normally come on 18" wheels. Hope this doesn't confuse you too much.

You are correct. However, the Alesio was redesigned recently with the new style bolts. Until a while ago, the bolts were the same as any other conventional multi-piece wheel. Notwithstanding this detail, the spoke design is still slightly different from the RS wheel. IMO, the RS wheel looks a bit more elegant or refined than the Alesio.

No, the Kinesis rim halves are all polished spun aluminum. This wheel has a cast (as opposed to forged) center and is a little heavier. I don't know the exact weights but I seem to remember Kinesis stating that the 18's are close to the mid-twenties.

Just got the latest Performance Products catalog(#51A) and on page 63 there is "BBS 18" Modular Tuner Wheel" fancy name, 9x18 20lbs and 11x18 21lbs.

Yeah, nice looking wheels. What's nice about them is that the centers are aluminum, as opposed to magnesium, so they'll have better wear on the street.

For me, it's a toss up between these and the Cargraphic wheels.

Rick (& others),

I finally went to see those wheels (& I'm not buying),

They are not "speedline for PORSCHE", they are
'just' "speedline".

Sizes are 18x8.5 (225 tyre), and 18x11 (285 tyre)
rear offset is 56 if I'm correct but these came from narrow 993 without fender rolling & he said they don't rub. Tyres are SO-2's (maybe about 75% thread left).

They are in pretty good shape outside, insede they've been painted (I don't know why)

So, if you still are interested ($3000), let me know. I have more pictures.

Last year I purchased a set of Tramont 3 piece RS wheels from a national porsche event in the UK. Look v similar to the factory RS split rims.

Does anyone know the weight of the Tramont wheels and if they're any good?

I don't know if its a subjective thing, but I don't think my car (993 C2) feels as "agile" as it used to on the stock 17" alloys.

That's because they weight more than your 17".

Has anyone ever weighed the hollow spokes?
Curious to know what weight savings to look forward to.

Why doesn't Kenesis use an 18" center on their 18" Supercup wheel? The 17" center on the 18" wheel looks odd.
