It is worth noting for those interested in the genuine RS wheel, that the outer rim is lacquered.

There is no doubt that this makes them very easy to clean as brake dust etc just wipes off, but the lacquer is very easily damaged by tyre fitters.

Once the lacquer surface is damaged water penetrates underneath and eventually the lacquer lifts. This makes the wheels look very unsightly and the only solution is re-lacquering which requires a total wheel rebuild at Circa 300 GBP per wheel in the UK.

Also I have managed to crack two rear inner rims which is apparently is quite common. That said my car is predominantly used on the track. I would buy an alternative wheel for my RS, but for the fact I want to keep it looking original. I think the FIKSE wheels look great.

Don't know if this is available in the US but from BBS of Japan you can have this forged magnesium wheels at 15.4 and 16.6 lbs <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> <a href="http://www.bbs-japan.co.jp/pro/pro_re.html" target="_blank">BBS RE Magnesium</a>

Speaking of wheels - anyone seen these on Ebay?
No, they're not mine but I'd love to be able to afford them (I see a set of Roock 5 spokes in my future sometime soon)

Those are sweet wheels! Since I can't read German, are they for the narrow or wide body 993? Thanks.

I emailed the guy and he said they were genuine GT2 wheels - J-Lo's only I'm afraid...
