Welcome to Rennlist! Search is your friend, as the archives contain many pages on almost every subject.

That said, check out this short shift kit from a great company called FD Motorsports. They can help you with almost everything 993: http://fdmotorsports.net/category/sh...nsmission-993/

Good luck

FD MOTORSPORT as noted has a good unit. Only shortens throws by about an inch, but seems to tighten things.
A weighted shift **** also adds to the feel.

Assume you have the FD Golden Rod?
If not, a must have.

+1 on the FDM golden rod and short shifter. Could not be happier with my mine.

Another option would be the CAE Ultra Shifter.

I love mine. Corrected all the ergonomic issues I had with the OEM shifter, and the throw is much tighter and more connected.

Consider carefully before taking this path.
I installed a well-known vendors SSkit and was not happy with the feel on my previous 4S.
Not the vendors fault, just not an improvement IMO
Very hard to beat the feel of a Carrera 4 shifter bolted to the big black tube, much better feel than the RWD cars IMO.

I'd love one of these too - if only they made one for AWD!

I will certainly be installing the FD "Golden Rod" in the near future. I may put it in and see if I am happy with the change, and then decide if I want to change some more and add the short-shift.

On the other hand, while I'm in there...

I was unaware that a short shift kit for a Carrera 4 is any different from one for a C2. Can someone educate me on the differences?

Small issue of the torque tube (for the front drive) that has to be circumnavigated (actually forms part of the AWD shifting mechanism, I believe).
