Oil level Question

Silly question of the day: has anyone drilled little holes in the dipstick to read oil level easier? I haven't tried roughing/sanding the dipstick yet but was thinking little holes an inch apart might make it easier to read, for me anyway......I'm not happy unless I'm worried about something.

Thank you for your reply, I considered weakening it might be an issue as it does twist/turn quite a bit as you remove and insert it.....but as it is today it's impossible for me to get a read on it. I know it's within the range (just changed with 10.5qts of oil) but would like to take any guess-work out of it. I'll try roughing the surface up a little....

Get a blue paper shop rag/cloth - pull dipstick out and lay on cloth = read level.

Our Chevrons has white paper towel dispenser, I usually take some to make an oil pad to lay the dipstick on the see the level a little better. Everytime I get gas, I restock my oil stick reader.
