Tillet Racing Seats Installed

Tillet Racing Seats Installed
i needed a solution for racing seats. I wanted a seat that would allow my 6' 4" frame to sit with a helmet and not bang into the roof. And I needed holes for shoulder harnesses that actually rose to my shoulders, and not just my shoulder blades. And finally, And most of all, I wanted a plug and play solution that didn't require cutting up the seat rails and permanently damaging the car. Weeks of research led me to Tillet. Tillet's B6 F XL Carbon seat is the perfect solution, and FIA rated.
[EDIT - GO TO POST #52, BETTER SETUP IS TO ELIMINATE THE PLANTED BRACKETS, AND USE PLANTED INVERTED SIDE MOUNTS IN CONJUNCTION WITH RECARRO SLIDERS FOR A LIGHTER YEST STURDIER SETUP] With the correct hardware and Planted brackets, installation is a snap. Once the seats are mounted to the Planted brackets you are all set. The Planted brackets allow you to use the existing seat bolt holes, and the seat takes minutes to install or remove.
I couldn't find much information on-line about fitting Tillet seats in a 993. Steve Tillet was incredibly helpful and responsive with all my questions. Tillet USA's Tim Trampedach was also very responsive.

Here's the link the the F1 bracket you will need (don't try the F5 brackets that point outward, they will get in the way of the seat bolts): https://www.tillettseatsusa.com/till...unting-bracket
TR1 seat sliders (shouldn't be used for racing): https://www.tillettseatsusa.com/tillett-tr1-seat-slider
FIA rated and weighs only 17.5 lbs (19.5lbs with suede cushions)
Bolt in the Planted bracket and mark the bolt holes. The seat should be centered equidistant from these bolts.
Center the seat between the marked bolt holes, drill four holes, and secure using M8 - 1.25 x 16 bolts using washers and nylock nuts.
Bolting the Planted bracket in is a snap with an extension wobble. You can readily access all four bolts without having to slide the seat back and forth.

No DE events as yet, just one spirited rive through some twisties. The seat was surprisingly comfortable and supportive. The optional suede cushions really help hold you comfortably in the seat. Rigidity was unbelievable. No twisting or flexing at all with these FIA rated seats. There are additional in-built upper and headrest mounting points, but I don't think I'll need them.
I'm 6'' 4", 34" and 200 lbs. with a 34" waist. The seats fit me like a glove. I'm sure the seats don't fit everyone perfectly, so be sure to test fit them first. You can test fit the seats at Tillet USA if you're in Northern California. If you're located in New England, just come on by.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, and took a gamble buying the seats sight unseen. It also seemed at times like I was writing the book on this install.
Incredibly, I have the seat set at the second highest setting in the rear bracket hole and the highest setting in the front slot, yet with sliders there's still plenty of headroom. When I eventually remove the sliders from the driver seat I may need to shim the brackets to raise them an inch or two.

I was just drooling...ummm...examining the pictures some more and noticed the mention of the seat mounts using 4 bolts.
The stock rails use six bolts, with two more further aft of the two rear bolts shown here, correct? Is there any concern with this?
I still think these seats are incredible!
