DJ 996,
The new aluminum (not the fiberglass ones) Shelbys are supplied primarily by Kirkham.

One of the cars I considered 5 years ago prior to ordering my S was the AC from Britain. A couple times a year I get a ride in Belgium in a friend's '65 289 Cobra. What a beast on the late Sunday morning drive through the villages to get croissants. The senior locals wonder if WWII really ended, as it sounds like a low altitude pass from a Henkel. Examine your lifestyle, number of people you want to carry, even if very occasionally, driving skills, local weather, propensity to tinker. Unlike the 993, this is a hard purchase to reverse once made.

Berkley, I did the Cobra replica thing some 10 years ago, with an English version, full spaceframe, unequal wishbones all round, rose jointed suspension, 800Kg all up, kit car race series champion, etc.

You'll have to jemmy me out of my Carrera S !! Don't waste your years!

Cheers, Maurice.

If you are interested in a great piece of German machinery at a very reasonable price, take a look at a 928 GT ot GTS...

You will have 993 or better performance with great quality.

I don't think kits are worth the time...I decided against a $20,000 550 Spyder kit because it was way too much cash.
