Default WTB: 993 Fabspeed X-Pipe w/Sport Cats - Bischoff

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have this setup sitting on a shelf and be willing to sell it? I could also do the non cat X pipe version, but would prefer the one with cats. Please let me know! Thanks

Dansk sells a 100 cell cat using the OEM cat architecture for a fraction of the Fabspeed price. I got it in my new car, feels and sounds the same as the Fabspeed X-pipe I had in my old 993.

Could you post a link? I just googled it and only found a Dansk option that was $2,300. Thanks in advance.

http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod12...l-Porsche-993/

It was $800 and change including shipping from the UK. Took less than a week to arrive. Just one caveat, this is for an OBDI car w a single O2 sensor. OBD2 cars have 4 O2 sensors...

The website is misleading if Ilko is right. The product description states its for all years of 993 and has bungs for "lambda sensorS". It'll be interesting to see if they have another version stating its for OBDI only.

It’s a UK web site so I would imagine most buyers would be from the Old Continent. The ROW 993s were all OBD1.

Edit / delete this original post..

In light of 993 owner ChisV observations when attempting a 2017 California smog test. See post #12

Buyer beware when modifying or upgrading OEM catalytic converters.

Default Dansk 100 Cell Options?

Can someone help me understand what the difference is between the Dansk 100 cell setup at the link above and this version for quite a bit more money?

Or the option of shipping your OEM 993 catalytic to Gert for modification. Pretty heavy the OE unit is for certain, however there must be local welding expertise... to handle such a straightforward task.

Here is a link: http://www.carnewal.com/products/P93...rt-Cat-Inserts

There's an ebay.com seller offering HJS brand 200 cell cat elements in 2 dia. dimensions; 1st, 4" /100mm and the 2nd 200 cell element slightly larger 4" + dia. Cheaper $ yet ..
This would be a nice alternative which also keeps the OE cat housing and will not alert a smog tech to the modification. However, I just had my car smog tested with the fabspeed x-pipe & sport cats installed and it did not pass the sniff test. It obviously didn't pass visual either but I was able to get a tech to perform the sniff test "just to see if it will pass". Fortunately, I kept the OE cat for this reason and reinstalled it for the test. I have the removal/install process down to less than an hour! Anyone who's car is subject to the smog sniff test and who is considering swapping 100 or 200 cat cells in their OE housing may want to reconsider.

This one has 4 O2 sensor bungs and should work on OBD2 cars.

Interesting. I’ve heard of other cars pass the sniffer test with aftermarket cats...

Default State smog testing and catalytic converter mod's . . . .

A good heads-up is 993 owner ChisV observations when attempting a 2017 California smog test. See post #12

Buyer beware when modifying or upgrading OEM catalytic converters.
