First off, nice job! Thanks for posting.

As for the stripes, I too sit in the camp of appreciation some tasteful stripes to an other wise beautiful car.

I have mentally toyed with what to do on my Ocean Blue Metallic over Classic Grey. Simple white stripe? Silver?

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

However, I'm not feeling the stripes at all, and that's compounded by the fact that they're not aligned, thus greatly detract/distract from the rest of the car.

I would suggest if you do like the stripes, have them redone and applied by a professional.

WHAT?! I AM a professional. College, medical school, residency... geez how much more schooling would I need?

I keep looking at them and, I tell ya, they look pretty damn straight to me I do wear corrective lenses, so that may have something to do with it, but as long as they are on, those babies look straight as an arrow...

Thank you for the compliment also...

Is that your 917? I guess decals/stripes were de rigueur on your car. I love the Gulf livery, always have!

You've done some excellent mods to your car. Don't forget to drive it!

First, seats have been addressed. Thanks to RL, I found out about Waldemar Mueller in Germany. He builds pretty darn close replicas of the original 993 Hard Back Sports seats, standard in the Turbo and an option otherwise back then.
I ordered them in black perforated leather, and Arena Red hard shell to match the body. They come with the Porsche crest on the headrests, and 4-position electric controls. No heating ( I live in LA for god's sake!)

Secondly,

That is a 427 Shelby Cobra Continuation car. (The joke is "a REAL Shelby, not an ORIGINAL one" Registered as 1965. '68 NOS FE Side Oiler iron block (date stamped 1971) stroked to 457ci. 530 hp and 580 lbs/ft of torque. Then there is the rebuilt original NASCAR 4-sp large spline Top Loader. Engine and transmission built by Southern Automotive in GA, and car finished by Olthoff Racing, in Mt. Ulla, NC.

That car is mean, and tough to drive. Complete opposite to the 4S. It literally breathes fire and is enemy #1 of environmentalists everywhere. MY carbon footprint IS bigger than yours, for real...

And, finally, I do drive both of my cars every time I can...weekly, for sure

Thank you, kind sir!

Wow, Ocean Blue is another of my favorite colors for this car... I just love that it is not a common color! I would try two approaches:

A) Siver stripe. Silver just looks in total harmony with Blue, but ALSO it is the German competition color!!

B) Red/white stripes of the Canadian flag, just like some Ferraris carry the Italian flag colors along their bodies.I think it would be great looking and totally unique in a Porsche.
I chose the German flag, because I already have Ol' Glory's red/white/blue pattern in my Shelby.

Go for it! If you are anything like me, the most fun is in applying them. You can pay a "professional", but if I were to do that, I would spend real money and have the stripe painted, instead of "stickered" on. JMO

Cheers!

So I came up with this one with a little input from my wife. Unfortunately, my supplier could not print all colors into one stripe (?) and I had to lay down EACH stripe across independently. It was, let's say, a little painful

I am still on the fence about applying the stripe across the rear wing's grill. Mainly because I would imagine I'd need a new shipment of patience...

So SwayBar made me take one last hard look. I am grateful. It looked that there was one more correction to make...

Sounds awesome! I don't want to steal any thunder from your 993 but please post more pics of the 427 if you have a chance. Thanks!

Love the 993 (and the cobra of course). You have done a great job so far man! Keep it up. I'm also in the "no stripe" camp but its all good. Everyone has different tastes!

Enjoy the car!
