Default Unplugging the CCU

I am trying to remove my lower dash as part of an interior refresh (planning on sending it out for recovering). What a colossal PITA! I have the fasteners at the ends, behind the ashtray and radio removed and am now trying to remove the one behind the CCU. The unit is out of the dash, but I can not get the wiring off the back. They appear to have a latch on one end but when I push the latch and pull they do not come free. Is there anything else I need to do? WD40? Pull harder?
Thanks in advance for helping me with this stupid question>

The two large connectors on the back of the CCU both remove in the same way, but opposite direction. Each connector has a latch on one end and a hook on the other, so the removal procedure is to release the latch, then swing out the end with the latch, so the hook end can be unhooked.

The CCU connectors are normally very tight, so I always use a small flathead screwdriver to jack them out while depressing the catch. Place the screwdriver under the catch and give it a little nudge to get it out.
Cheers,
Tore
