Pictures don't do it justice. I had the chance to look closely at his build today and Stunning doesn't quite cover it.

I want one.

Been following your build on instagram. Amazing result Ilko! Love seeing the parts list and all the little bits I never thought of like the seatbelt reel enclosures. Look forward to seeing it next Sunday.

What made you decide to go with Turbo sways instead of RS?

Also, curious to know who you’ll use for the regear. This is next on my list too!! Maybe we can get a 2fer. Haha.

And you’ll love the V3’s! Completely transforms the car!

Thank you guys, I appreciate it!

Used the Turbo bars because they came with the car. They are practically the same as the RS minus the adjustability so for the time being they'll suffice.

Right now the thought is to replicate a G50/31 as close as possible but I'll have to have a chat with Matt Monson and hear his recommendation. I have a late 95 so my 2nd gear might be splined to the mainshaft (like 1st), I guess we'll find out. Early cars have them separate and they are easier (much cheaper!) to change out... And then there's the LSD. Mine is shot. Depending on how deep down the rabbit hole I end up with the gears I'll either have it rebuilt or get a new Guard unit. That's the plan for now but first I'll have to refill the piggie bank.

Ilko San,

When the time comes (heck, anytime), let's chat.

I researched this in detail and was very happy with the end result. Thread here somewhere in the archives.

And yes, you need to speak to Matt at Guard.

Cheers

Matt

Default RS seat belt reel enclosures

Ilko,

I have never seen RS seat belt reel enclosures. Do you have a part number?

Most people who install the "RS carpet" leave out the seat belt reels uncovered. Which is an unfortunate oversight. Here are the part numbers: 993 555 327 00 (L) and 993 555 328 00 (R). They aren't cheap, but finish off the rear interior really well!

Very cool. Can they be installed with backseats intact?

And How about RS frunk carpet? That’s a detail that’s often overlooked.

WOW, what a transformation Ilko! It was in such poor condition after the purchase, but now it’s stunning. Great work! BTW, are you moving forward with Cliff for the PPF? If so let me know if I can help in any capacity since I’m local.

Until you pointed them out I didn't notice them but no doubt if they weren't it would be obvious they were missing. They are a nice finishing touch to an incredible build. I see so many tributes but using the factory parts makes a noticeable difference.

Thanks guys! Installing the covers is not an afterthought. The mounting studs are not there on non-RS cars so they have to be welded/riveted in place prior to carpet install. Here is a close up of the cover...

This is an insanely nice build, and I don't know how I missed it. Was the car originally guards red too? Enjoy in good health.

Very clean! Well done Ilko!!!

Bravo for taking on things like the VRAM. Not an easy task to complete. I bet the added midrange torque and lighter weight makes for a perky 993.

You mentioned "floaty" feel. Just wanted to say if your ride height is too high with RS uprights you'll get weird suspension geometry. Anything below ROW should be fine with em. Your planned KW's would really round things out well.

Again congrats on a job well done!

Thank you and yeah the KW, solid links, and a few other things got rid of the floatiness. Lowered the ride height too as seen on the photo below. Car feels quite planted now. I’m still tweaking the settings on the KWs but am quite happy with the handling.
