Post Christmas list suggestions????

Hello all. My lovely wife asked me to put together a list of Christmas ideas. I need your input. The car is a 1995 993.

I cant remember where I saw this particular shifter upgrade. I checked Gerts site but cant seem to find it. I am looking for a round, aluminum shifter upgrade of some sort. I think the round aluminum looking shifter Gert has is plastic? Does anyone know where to get the round aluminum shifter? Anyone have the RS shifter? If so, how do you like it?

Thanks again,

Chris

My list: Litronics and an Alpine XM Deck. A new shifter would be nice too since i have the regular black leather one w/ the silver shift pattern on top. Sorry what were you saying

Chris-- I'm very happy with my aluminum round shifter from TechArt. Has the right tactile feel in the palm of your hand.

I think the best Christmas gift idea this year is the Gift certificates from Gert at http://www.Carnewal.com

Thanks again,

I ordered the RS shifter when I ordered my suspension from Gert. I like it a lot. I put in Alum. gauges and it looks great with those.

For X-mas, go with the turbo front bumper. Totally changes the look of the car. That is what I asked for this x-mas.

Sidebar: I also asked for the car that belongs to that bumper, but she didn't fall for it...

Randy:

I recently installed the Alpine with XM (7894). A great stereo. I like it because I can change the buttons from Green to Amber to match the gauges, for one.

Mark, Do you have the XM radio? I know the unit is ready for it but I have yet to talk to anyone who actually has XM Radio. I have some older Alpine DDDrive speakers w/ crossovers and a 125w Alpine amp that I'll be using. That setup sounded great in my old turbo.
I'd like the golf ball shifter too. It feels better than the one I have. Haven't seen the RSR shifter

I did not hook up the XM part yet. I seldom listen to the radio and just learned about this mp3 thing, so I wanted a unit that would play mp3's. I can add the XM part later, I believe. Admittedly, I was most excited about changing the color of the display (****, I know).

For gift suggestions, one of the easiest for the spouse to aquire and put under the tree on their own is a certificate for a driving school. Preface the suggestion with the idea that flying to Sears Point, oh I mean San Francisco, for the weekend, she can go shopping and you go driving, or Laguna Seca, er Monterey, she goes to the galleries. You guys have to work it....fancy hotel, nice dinner...

Hey Phil, my list is similar to yours:

DAS roll bar
6-pt harnesses from Rennsport
fire extinuisher
Rennsport chip
new seats
gloves
shoes
driving suit
PSS-9's with RS-sway bars
RS shifter from Gert
New lug nuts (for cosmetic reasons)

The responses:
ok, but you have to order it so no mistakes (done!)
as above (Schroth harnesses arrived yesterday)
extinuisher here but B-K seat mount doesn't fit
Steve's chip arrived yesterday (with harnesses)
under discussion
waiting for Christmas
waiting for Christmas
probably a birthday gift (birthday suit, no pun intended)
under discussion, but likely
no response (maybe Santa will bring it)
laughter

Santa's being very good to me this year and I have two things to thank. (1) Rennlist helped me learn about all this stuff (and shoved me off the edge and down the slippery slope, see it's all your fault, I had nothing to do with it) and (2) my wife has joined me in autocrossing so she has some understanding of what I want and why. Not that she actually believes all the rationalization...
