Sudden trouble shifting 3 to 2 after trans oil change

I recently replaced gear oil in my trans and can comment on my experience. The trans had Motul in it for 45k miles and shifting was good but I had to be deliberate to allow the syncros time to work. Oil came out pretty used looking and we replaced with PTX. Shifting went from good to great. Lighter effort, syncros work faster and no hint of a grind either warm or cold. PTX isn't cheap but it works very well.

I'll just reinforce what's already been stated....
I've tried 4 (or maybe 5) different kinds of fluid in my gearbox. Both Porsche products (Shell product and Mobilube PTX) were hands down the best "feeling."
Both were available from my local dealer. While the Shell was available in liter bottles, the PTX had to be filled from their bulk supply. I just brought in an empty gallon water jug. The filled it, and charged me for 4 liters. Super easy.

I had a similar situation when my trans oil was replaced with Mobile 1 75-90 devlac synthetic. When the trans is cold I need to double clutch from first to second as it is a bit notchy which wasn't with my old oil. Once warmed up after a few miles of driving it's smooth though.
Is this normal for this oil?
