Mike,
What is VIR? If it was the historic races at Road Atlanta I was there on Saturday.

Man, that Riviera Blue TT is STILL for sale? Bizarre... That's been on there forever, and still with no bids! What kind of front console is that on that car.... I've never seen one like that before. Is it an aftermarket deal? I just love the look of that "custom?" console.

Steve, I believe that console is the factory optional car phone console. Not much use in these cell phone days really, but it would make a great starting point for someone wanting to build a factory-looking GPS/Nav system.

Thanks Pete. I always wondered what that was each time I saw the pic of that car months ago. Looks really sharp!

Hey Bill, I just thought that it was your car that I saw at VIR last Sept. I looked at my pix again(link under my signature, and I realized that the lic tag of that other blue 993 is North Carolina. VIR=Virginia International Raceway. There's a blue 993 there which i though was your's. Check the link

Got word from the new owner that he arrived safely back in LA last night after a fun filled cross country drive. Hopefully, he'll introduce himself to the forum.

May be a silly question, but why on earth did you sell it???????

It's a beautiful colour - one of the best IMHO - and there can't be that many of them about.

Bill, I felt the same way when I sold my 993. I loved that car. Fortunatly i was out of town when the car left. Not sure how i would have handled seeing it drive away. But like your car it went to a good home. Fortunatly my next purchase helped me forget. Mike W

Bill.

I feelyour pain, my Polar Silver rolled out of my driveway in the summer. I still think about that car almost everyday. I sold it to buy our dream house and now find myself checking the classifieds and auctions on a regular b asis.

Bill, what were you thinking?! I actually identified with your car a lot, since you bought it the same day (I think) that I bought mine. I can't imagine being without my 993 and I'm probably a LOT less financially secure than you are. I just had to endure 3 wks. in Germany without my 993 and it was like being Rudolph and not being allowed to play in any reindeer games. Luckily, I got a ride in a Ruf 996TT and it held me over until my car's babysitter picked me up in my 993 at the airport on Sun.

Hndsight is 20/20 and financially I didn't need to sell. Being very fiscally conservative, however, I couldn't convince myself that I would feel comfortable keeping the car knowing what is coming next year from an employment perspective.

I won't be Porsche-less forever. When I have a better feel for what my situation will be I'll get one of the following:
1. low-mileage 993 C4S heavily optioned
2. low-mileage 993 TT
3. 996 C4S
4. New 997 (if available)

We'll have to see!

You want torture? I sold my 993 to a friend of mine who brings it by from time to time, showing me the newest mods hes done and how good it looks now, now that he fixed all the little dings and nicks, and such.
Arrghh, the agony......

Rattlsnake - now that IS torture! How do you handle that? Are you in therapy? I'd be so upset everytime I saw my old car!

It's great that the car is in LA....I was dreaming about it as well and was moving some things around to make a run at buying it. We will have to keep tabs on it.

Bill,
Pretty funny side story...the original owner of my Club Sport is apparently the Son or Grandson of Brown & Williamson and has more cars than he knows what to do with.
