I hadn't even thought about the gas. Granted you can go over 250 miles on a tank of gas. The majority of the time the dealer gives you the car with a full tank of gas. So siphon it out and leave 1 gallon in per year?

As for value, I wouldn't be surprised if it hit $500k

I call B.S. on the mileage. Why the hell is it at a Bed Bath and Beyond for running errands! Horse sh*t!! I don't believe it and would investigate much further before any type of purchase on this car .....

BTW, so it's not that you ask him to come to show you the car, right? It just happened to be at the BBB parking lot, because, you know, 115 miles and it needed to be exercised? This story has no beginning, middle or end, I think, but it keeps getting weirder.

I always flatbed my Turbo to the mall when I'm running errands. And I flatbed it to the inspection station for the smog checks and to the dealership when it needs service, which it rarely does, because it only has 115 miles on it.

When this car ends up in the hands of a consignment dealer in a few years, this thread might save somebody from making a terrible financial error. This is not a three figure odometer car as the owner will claim. It's TMU. And TMU is a whole different beast, IMO.

I knew people unhooking their odometer cables back in 1999. This problem is FAR more widespread than you would think. It is so important to get as much documentation as you can to determine if a car you are looking at (and paying a premium for) has been tampered with.
