Funny you say that...my mechanic had a 993 in for Emissions Testing and I swear he put 100 miles on just to get the "Ready Codes" for the Emissions Testing! Not sure how it only has 175 miles...... . . . . .. .

Something is still off here. I looked at the odometer, it clearly said 115 miles, not 175. Could be a mistake when entered by the tech?

CARFAX...
I had a '94 ZR1 Corvette that was smashed in the left front 5-years ago by a guy who blew a red light. Major damage, he admitted fault, airbags deployed, undriveable, blocked a major intersection in Portland. Police responded and made a report. Huge $, car should have been totaled.
His Safeco paid everything; car repaired, came out OK after many months.
Subsequent CARFAX had nothing on it. Would never know this occurred.
Beware CARFAX, not perfect or complete.

If mileage is correct, that car is going to sell for 3XX,XXX or more.

Based on that Carfax all of the 115 miles on the car could have been logged driving to and from inspection facilities.

something is amiss.

That's kinda what I'm hinting at....

We see cars with virtually zero miles that have been bubble wrapped and stored for long term, but they don't typically get tested by the gub'mint on an annual basis.

This car has been registered and inspected regularly, from what I see on the Carfax. I simply cannot imagine a car being ready to pass testing protocol if only driven 5-10 miles per year (apparently to get a great deal at some department store)

This made me laugh. I can't say I've ever felt good about the service provided by the TSA.

I wonder if it passed the safety inspection (in the carfax report) with 21 year old tires? Those things must be hockey pucks, scary.

Well, since my GF is a photographer and I have to listen to her bitch about it... in this case it's related to picture quality. Everything, starting with composition.

Below would be a decent (IMHO) picture of 993TT in the same color:

Reading between the lines about where the NYS indy inspection places are located, he lives in East Hampton NY and the nearest BBB is in Riverhead, which is indeed next to a best buy, seen in the photo.
That's 30-37 miles each way, depending on where in town he lives.

His odometer is disconnected.

But you know what? I know the service writer at the dealer that services the car. He's a NASA racer. Next time I'm there, whenever that is, maybe I can get an answer about "that 175 mile turbo we saw on Rennlist".

Jesus, I must think harder next time I jump out of my car and take a couple of snaps with my phone of a car in a Bed Bath and Beyond carpark.

So imagine how many others are getting scammed by people doing the same thing! Scary! Especially since the rise in Air Cooled 911s.

It's a massive issue, potentially. That said, I don't want to assume the owner of this car is guilty of that based on sleuthing here. I recognize the circumstances could point to an irregularity, however.
