Default Help! Need some high quality bodywork in NJ...

I searched the forum and a few names came up, but wondering if anyone else knows a great shop.? Prefer NJ, but will travel if I need to.

Have put over 100,000 on my beloved '97 C2S with nary a dent.

An encounter last night with a decreasing radius turn, a deer in the middle of it, and a guard rail has messed up my baby pretty bad.

Did not find any wrinkles in the tub floor behind the seats.

Who would you guys bring this to, assuming that this is a car I plan to keep until I can no longer drive?

Thanks

Uggh! That's tough to look at. I hope someone here can point you in the right direction.

Sorry for your loss. Is it totaled? Is that deer hair under the deck lid?

Two good choices, among many:

Bodymotion in Ocean Township, NJ

or

J&B Bodyworks in Mt. Vernon, NY.

Really sorry for your incident, but as long as you and passengers are safe, that's all that really matters. I have heard horror stories about run-ins with deer so be grateful.

No, just some rope.

It still drives and handles well. And I hope to God it is not totaled by my insurance co.

Thanks, much appreciated. I had to swerve right, then brake to avoid a deer on a sharp right handed exit ramp. So I did the ole' Porsche piroutte, with my back end coming around quickly. Which is why I got slammed on the drivers side and wound up at 180 degrees. Haven't pulled that maneuver since my '77 911S well over 30 years ago. But it just couldn't be avoided in this instance.

Mike Bavaro (Bodymotion)rebuilt the engine and fitted a 3.8 kit on this car about 10 years ago, so I may give him a call.

Thanks

That's a damn shame what happened and as others have said glad you're OK.

Dave Reinhardt runs the body shop side of Bodymotion. That said, Dave is very skilled and if he is doing the work you could rest assured it would be done to the highest standard. Reality is there will be others with a different skill set doing much of the work.

Thanks Mussberger,good to know.

I also know that Bodymotion is a "premier" shop for my insurance (NJM) which makes things a bit easier, as they deal directly with them and already have a good established relationship.

Oh ok ... was like is that a deer tail under there .. Well glad you are ok... just looking at the damage it's gonna be costly. Won't know the extent of the damage until under the panels is evaluated. Good luck!

Sorry to see this mishap. Been there sadly, I know the feeling.

+1 on Bodymotion. They'll take care of you. You also might want to consider getting a Euro bumper w/o bumperettes while you're at it.

Best of luck with the repairs!

I've heard Foreign Specialties in Manville is good, but have no FHE.

OP

you didn't swerve to AVOID hitting the deer and then went into a spin and hit guardrail.

you HIT an animal, swerved, went into a spin and hit the guard rail.

now delete this thread!

my experience with bodymotion's bodyshop was good, but not quite great. quite a bit of dirty in the paint. That said the match was good and once I knocked all the swirls out, it looks good.

I've heard good things about Martino auto concepts
