Post Slightly OT: Oversized And Animated

Hello there,

Just a quick suggestion.
Wouldn't the forum look a little neater and more organized if all the avatars would share the same image size (just the size - not the car depicted on it!). This way the message layout would look by my opinion a little nicer.
Some avatars are animated....please...I have nothing against an animation (as a matter of fact I am an animator). But sometimes I found it is tricky to keep an attention on the text when an avatar to the left of text is constantly blinking, changing the images and etc.

I am sorry if my opinion would seem to someone inappropriate

Good point Sputnik!

And this OOOOOversized, page-spoiling avatar problem is particularly current topic problem. I second.

Yes, please, John .... emancipate us from this! It was sort of amusing briefy, but now it's just visual clutter (speaking as an art director here).

Oooo, wait 'till I go get some popcorn for this show. People are probably going to start in on their 'rights' to do whatever they want with their avatars next

I agree 150%. Also Max size for pictures posted should be 640 because it is extremely annoying to be sliding back and forth in order to read the lines.

BTW, I agree. Lets try to "get small" people.

I am guilty of posting a too large Avitar and I apologize. I have resized but now I cannot figure out how to upload the picture again.

I think the animated avatars are pretty cool. The size of some avatars could be adjusted.

Ha, it's funny that some of the comments about avatar width, come from peoples with wwwwiiiidddddeeeee ones!!

John, add to what I imagine is your already LARGE work load and put some code in to check image properties, if it exceeds X pixels width and height, resize it before loading to the topic. OK, maybe people should police themselves in the meantime?

Cheers,
Dylan.
