Bridgestone Pole P, S03's Review.
I just recently purchased 18" Techart wheels and Pole Position S03's and I noticed alot of negative feedback on these tires. I could not be happier with these tires. I have had Yokos, pirellis, toyo s1's, Mich pilots and for me personally these are the best tire I have ever had on a car. I guess it's possible during track conditions they don't hold up as well but for street use I rate them a 9 out of 10.
I am also really impressed with the way the 18" wheels ride. It seems very noticable in handling or is it just my imagination? Give me your thoughts on the S03's and any imput on the 18"s Thanks

"input" I mean. I have read alot of reviews on the tire web sites without giving any plugs, and all are at the very worst 7 out of 10. Maybe I need to try the other tires with the new 18's/

GTR993, you are not alone! I also have SO-3's and I love them for streets. I have track tires, so SO's only see the street. I'm on factory 17's and prefer these tires to Pirelli P-zeros and SO-2's..

GTR,
I also currently run S-03's on the street during spring/summer/fall (when not using my P-Zero C's), and I agree that they are fine tires. However, they seem more tuned for driving comfort, low noise levels, and good wet weather handling than for ultimate dry grip. I think this may be the reason for their less glowing reviews on Rennlist.
OTOH, if you check the Tire Rack's website, the S-03's are ranked #1 by a considerable margin, so you must not be the only one who likes them. Personally, I prefer a grippier dry weather tire and therefore plan to run R-compound Michelin Cup Sports or Pirelli P-Zero Corsas exclusively during the warmer months once these S-03's are used up.

I tend to agree. I run S02's on front and S03's on rear. The So's ar solid street tires especally for rain due to deep channels. I run them on the track but realize that the pirllis on my old saab turbo were better for this level....

I have SO3’s and I like them as well. I need one tire that does everything, as I have decided to keep my car as a street car (that I occasionally take to DE’s and autocrosses) and not go down the path of a combination street/track car (harness, seats, R tires, etc). I had BFG KD’s before these, and they would tramline on the freeway like crazy. Going straight on the freeway required a firm, tight grip on the wheel to keep the car from wandering into the next lane. The SO3’s are much better in this regard, plus they are more comfortable, quieter, better in the wet and last longer. SO3’s also have a 265 size for the rear (for 17’s). I run 225’s in the front, and I feel that 265’s in the rear is a slightly better match than 255’s. They give up a bit of dry traction on the track, but for me, the SO3’s are the best compromise.

Don't these tires look a lot like the RE71s? I have to replace my RE71s very soon (i.e. next week) and I love those tires. But the SO3s seem to have a very similar tread pattern. Anyway, I'm looking to get a set of these tires for my C4S and Carrera.

Another plug for the SO3s. I've had PZeros, SO2s, and now the SO3s. Yes, they are a street tire only, but I am very pleased with them.

I like mine so far.
Have S02s on a different car. Tey also do not last long, are great in the dry, but worthless after a little wear in the wet.
I think S03s are better all around for the street, but perhaps S02s or other track-tires for the track...
