In certain situations, for eg downshift from 6th gear to 5th to overtake, and when accelerate to around 4000 rpm there is a lull where the rpm are increasing, but the speed is not, and there is a "whirring" sound, which after a second or two goes away....Do not know how to better describe, but wonder if gear box, clutch or some other undoubtedly expensive problem. Car has 5ok miles.
