Question Clutch cylinder? / Gear selection

This morning when i went to drive the car, i found it impossible to select any gear. I dipped the clutch a couple of times, then got it into 6th, and then into reverse, so as to move off out of the driveway. Then, as i moved the lever out of reverse to head forwards in first, the same thing happened - no selection. So I put the car away.

Never had a problem like this before, and the clutch and plate are only a year and 8k miles old. I'm pretty light on clutches too, over the years.

Could this be a failing master or slave cylinder?

I would try a bleed on the slave cylinder first, and make sure your brake fluid is topped off. The bleeder is a PITA to get at.
