Around $2,200 if replacing the housings as well.
$500 for just the covers.

Make sure you scrub everything very thoroughly with hot soapy water after using a Scotchbrite pad to remove all bits of loose abrasive!!

Also, I 'double nutted' the cover bolts (pardon the pun here) when I installed them with a small bit of blue lock tite. I noticed a few studs were not that tight when I disassembled them. I guess cheap insurance. No leaks so far after 18months! Good luck with your project. Fixing leaks are so satisfying to me

I've replaced timing chain cover gaskets on my junker and a few other 993s. In each case I fastidiously cleaned the groove (wooden chopsticks work great...) and used razor blades, etc. to clean the housing surface. Then Curil-T on both sides of the gasket and on the donuts for good measure. No weeping/moisture/drips afterwards.

The covers appear to have some sort of light anodized black finish when new that turns greyish over time. I washed my housing in a varsol bin and all the "blackness" quickly rinsed off as if it were dirt leaving me with a patchy raw olive-coloured finish. I decided to bead blast the exterior of the housings after an hour of masking the rest off. Not sure what I am going to do with these just yet (probably high-temp paint)

Last week I had the chance to buy some used housings that where caked in gunk and oil which appears to have preserved them and their black finish. I dry-wiped them with a shop towel to scrap the big crud off. My next step will be to clean them in soapy hot water as solvents appear to strip the black finish (did a test with brake cleaner: too strong). If this works out I will install them as is.
