Default Striking endorsement!

He admittedly comes from BMW world.
He has admittedly only owned 2 Porsche 911s, the first one for only 2 months.
He always thought he liked coupes better because open top cars “might” be louder or not ride as well or something, yet apparently never sought to investigate and make an informed decision.

Are we supposed to be gob-smacked that this is quite possibly his favorite 911 EVER?
Turn off the Telly, folks. The big news is here!

It takes no effort to be nice

The Targa is a great vehicle OP.

Targas look amazing, however, too heavy IMO and the wind buffeting with the roof down is absoutely horrific. Hybrid system is a work of art, but wouldn't own long term.. so complex. Cabs are a big no go for me, the look is ruined!! Coupe with sunroof (not so much to open, but just to let the light in..) in 4S variant for me.. Coupe then Targa then Cab IMO. Would like an LC500 vert or a 560SL to complement the 911.

Long ways away, as we are happy with our current lineup and the prices for these are CRAZY! I remember in 2020 a base 911 started under 100K.

I also went from a 2024 C4S to a 2026 GTS RWD and although I really enjoyed the C4S the GTS is simply another level of performance, handling and feel. I spec's mine with PDCC just like the C4S and to be honest in the GTS the system seems to be even better than the C4S. Bottom line there will detractors of the Hybrid system but to achieve higher HP performance and EPA emissions all car Mfgs are moving in this direction. If it's not cup of tea cool. I remember the days when everyone was about to lose their minds when Porsche went from air cooled to water cooled. You'd think the world was going to end that day. News flash... it didn't and here we are. Have a great day folks.

Thank you.

Mama told me if I help at least one person per day I might go to Heaven.

But in defense of OP I think he helped some people today too.

He gave a bunch of Targa owners a chance to chime in and say they love Targas too!

Whaddya know?

Who knew so many people would like their $200,000 cars?

Life is full of surprises.

I had a 2025 C2 Cab and now a 2026 Targa 4 GTS. There is a little more wind buffeting in the Targa vs. the Cab, but I don’t mind it.

I agree the hybrid could be an issue down the road but the weight issue is a but comical for street driving. You do notice the the weight difference on the street but it is minimal. Most people who use the weight argument never track their cars and go on boomer pca drives. Best option is use a targa for the street and gt3rs/cup for the track.

I went from a 992.1 Targa 4GTS to a 2026 M3, had it for a couple months, and regretted it instantly. I now have a 992.2 Targa 4GTS and can concur with everything the OP wrote. Bot or not, its pretty spot on. My M3 was me trying to be more frugal and on paper the performance was so close. It felt numb and definitely not special. The Targa puts a smile on my face every time, albeit I live in sunny Florida where it sees high use.
