Default Park button question

Question, I drove my wife's 23 targa yesterday and noticed when you put in it park, the red light under it doesn't come on (same when hitting the manual 'M' button). I hardly ever drive it, on my Cayenne when I push 'P' it illuminates and would think should be same in the targa. Can someone verify, if I don't get a response I'll begin the fuse journey. Thanks in advance...

Occasionally mine will malfunction too. But after a while it self recovered.

Yeah I noticed my 992.2 sometimes doesn’t light up the P as well. Not consistently though, so it’s hard to show to the dealer. I figured it was software too, like the gremlins in the entertainment system or the way it likes to show random faults at startup. These cars have their quirks.

It is a known fault. Porsche will replace the transmission shift module, the unit the shift lever and the buttons are attached to, under warranty. It’s a known issue.

I had this occur one time. Told the dealer when I was in and they were unaware of the replacement campaign.

My God, that is an expansive (read expensive) solution to activate the red P indicator light!
