Congrats on 5 years of ownership. It's great to have the same feeling driving it that you had on day 1. I'm only one year in, but I know that feeling won't go away. Enjoy!

My GTS is turning 3 years old and still feels like I got it yesterday. Just not interested in any other car (Porsche or other brands) at the moment (subject to change over time of course haha). Also, just got a set of new tires, gonna keep it and enjoy it for a while longer!

I laugh and say "this one is fast enough" but what I really want to say is "Have you ever done a track day? Most mortals can't drive a 350 hp car at 10/10th's around a race track, the car is too fast. Why do I want 700 hp? That is no longer controllable except by those with professional training and super-quick reflexes." But, why bother? They don't get it.

I am retired and can easily afford a grail car such as a Ferrari as I did well in business and investments, but I don't really want one, nor a "faster" Porsche. The value just isn't there. A GT3 is double or triple the price of my car for what? Another 50 hp and a big wing? Cars and Coffee bragging rights? Not me, I think I like my car even better than when it was brand new, I've bonded with it and know its nuances and its like handmade shoes that are well-broken in. It would take a special car to make me get out of it.....maybe a 992 Speedster with a Manual Transmission when that comes out ....
All so true. Your comments really resonate with me. I too, have been fortunate in life and I simply don’t aspire to a Ferrari or equivalent for the reasons you mentioned. Years ago I went to racing school at Sebring where Vic Elford was our lead instructor. I learned then how stupid it was to drive fast in public roads and I learned that I would never be able to leverage very high horsepower cars on the street or track. My risk profile simply wouldn’t let me do it (chicken?) It’s all about the harmony and the dance well executed, even if not being the fastest fellow on the block.

Mine turns 4 in April and I, too, recently purchased an additional 5 years through Porsche. I love my car more today than I did even on day 1, so @drcollie’s words resonate.

I had to look it up. This thread just elevated my sleeping OCD. Thank you so very much!
My possession of this 992.1 began 5 years ago on the 14th of this month. But truth be told, that's only when I adopted it. It's V300 (Vehicle Completion) Event Key was September 18, 2020.

The wait time for these is insane, but you will love it when you install it and start shifting.

Congrats on your 5th year ownership!!! I had my 992 for about a year now and it's the best 911 I ever owned and yes even better than my 991.1 GT3 and still today it gives me a smile every time I drive it!!

Mine was delivered at almost the same time....retirement gift to myself and after 25+ yrs of military service and an upgrade from my 2014 991.2 I picked it up from my dealer at Porsche Hawaii on 11/27/2020 the day after Thanksgiving. Also added an Akrapovic Ti exhaust as my 1st mod and have love the car since then. Its a keeper like yours! . Five years have flown by. Great car and no issues so far!
