Default Upgrading BOSE Audio system on 911 992.1

Hi everyone, just registered.
I’ve been reading the forum for a while, but now that I’m actually going to start upgrading, I thought it was time to get active here.

I’m picking up a 2022 Porsche 911 (992.1) GTS Coupe next week and I’m planning to upgrade the Bose system. I’ve been doing a lot of research but I’m still a bit confused about the correct harness / cable setup.

I’ve seen quite a few people mention that the recommended approach is to disable the Bose amp and code the car to “Base Audio” so that I can feed a clean low-level signal into a DSP. This makes sense to me, but I want to be sure before ordering parts.

I was looking at using:
  • Audison AP T-H MBP01
  • Audison Prima AP 160 P&P IN (for low-level input to the DSP)
But I’m not fully sure if this is correct for a car that originally has Bose. Since the AP T-H MBP01 is technically meant for the Base Audio setup, I’m unsure if the T-harness will fit properly and whether it will interfere with anything once Bose is deactivated.

The plan is to run:
  • Audison Forza AF C8.14 bit DSP/amp
  • Replace the 8” woofers + 4” mids + tweeters with upgraded drivers.
If someone here has done this conversion (Bose → Base + DSP) or has experience with Audison Forza setups in a 992, I’d really appreciate some guidance on the correct harness and coding path.

At this point I’ve spent a few days reading threads, but the harness info is a bit all over the place — so I want to avoid ordering the wrong parts.

Thanks in advance for any help — I’d really appreciate being pointed in the right direction!

My suggestion. Sound proof the door and see if you like it. It costs next to nothing and gives and astonishing amount of bass on the bose system

And if you can add the Burmester tweeters, as many have done on the 991s, try that as well.

I think I would go for something better. Burmuster is fine but when I'm already replacing, why not for something better

I agree if you are going all out, but what I meant was that many replaced just the tweeters in Bose with $60 Burmester tweeters and no longer felt a need to do anything else. But it seems that you are looking for much more!

I see thanks, yes was thinking about something higher. A lot of speakers to choose from. But my main issue is the t harnass/cable to the DSP.

As far as I know they offer their (easy) full system package with a module to use the optical cable.
I was more leaning to choose my own parts and do it without the nav TV like module. Also much cheaper.

Just checked the website again but it looks like every page is under maintenance

Thanks!

Yes want to swap it with a Audison Forza AMP with DSP. I'm pretty far with the preps but as said just want to know if someone took same route and can assist with the cables.

I don't think there's a how to for what you're looking for, but I recall some audio company out of the UK did an Audison install and offer similar packages for the 911. Can't recall of they use the Mos150 converter or go down the route you're hoping to.

I'm leaning to try it. I will search today finding a source for the quad lock wire diagram. At least I will know which cable is for what to double check the above cable and where needed modify the cable. Will definitely update my story over here

i have upgraded the factory Bose and installed a custom system on my 992.2 GTS cab together with my professional friend:

stage0: Sound deading in the doors and door panels
stage1: Speaker upgrade
Front dash tweeters -> HELIX Ci7 T20FM-SC tweeters with custom speaker adapters and Helix Porsche specific connectors.
Front dash subwoofer -> Focal K2 Power M 5KM
Front door midrange -> Dynoaudio Esotar² 430 midrange with Rennspec speaker adapters/connectors
Front door subwoofers -> HELIX Ci7 W200FM-S3 subwoofers and Helix Porsche specific speaker adapters/connectors.
Rear tweeters -> HELIX Ci7 T20FM-SC tweeters with Helix Porsche specific speaker adapters/connectors.
Rear midrange -> HELIX Ci7 M100FM-S3 midrange with Helix Porsche specific speaker adapters/connectors.

stage2: Amplifier upgrade
NAV-TV ZEN-V MOST150 unit
HELIX NEXT V EIGHT DSP ULTIMATE amplifier (for front speakers + Pioneer amp for rear speakers
Rennspec 38 pin adapters for Bose wiring
Cabeling
DSP programing with time correction and active filters.

stage3: Additional active subwoofer
DLS Reference ACW68i active subwoofer installed under the dash on the passanger side.

You can find Bose witing diagram on Rennspec.
And i highly suggest to use NAV-TV ZEN-V modul.
