Default Wipers - help needed!

Hello,

I'm being driven crazy by squeaky wipers on my 911 992 Carrera S

I've replaced the wipers 3 time in 6 months - Bosch Wiper Blade Aerotwin A698S each time, cleaned the windscreen thoroughly each time etc etc and no luck. They squeak like crazy.

I've read online that Bosch wipers can be prone to this? Are there any other wiper brands anyone could recommend for my car? Or.. is there anything else I can do to deal with this? I live in the UK so we use our wipers a lot!

Thanks,

Try isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol to clean your windshield and wiper blades. It will remove contaminants that can cause excessive squeaks. Just minimize contact time on your wiper blades to avoid degrading them. If that does not work try vinegar.

I think this might have worked! Thanks so much 😁

I had the same, but most critical are 2 points after blades exchange, see below. First point is the noise on one direction of operation or both directions - up and down? 1/ If one direction noise, do this: blades angle on windshield - check that and adjust potentially but tiny bend of wipers arms - see YT for that, should be ca. 90 angle. I did correct it and tiny jumping blades ended, on both arms. Jumping stopped. 2/ If noise is both directions this was coursed not by blades directly but rubber elements fixed with pins rotating the arms/blades. As they interact with top plastic cover under windshield, even saw there some tiny rubber particles as friction confirmation. Cross check while rain and squeaking by soft finger touch on top bolts pins to see if something changes. Than its matter of few silicon drops or vaseline on the rubber to reduce friction between both surfaces. It will fix for some time until it will settle down. In may case it helped.

Good to hear. A little lube and/or cleaning goes a long way. Owners with ceramic coated windshields know your pain, because the windshield get so clear on the one swipe that there's not enough water to lube the other direction. I have seen skips and stutters with ceramic coated windshields if you don't lube the blades.

Not sure if this has been covered already, but I couldn’t find a clear answer.
I’m shopping for new wiper blades for my 992 C4S.
From what I gather, Bosch makes the factory blades Porsche uses—the OEM set is part# 992955425BY (driver + passenger) for around $100 with tax and shipping.
I’d love to skip the Porsche markup if possible and go for a cheaper alternative.
Has anyone here confirmed whether Bosch 3397007697 is the same as the factory set?
Also, I’ve heard the Bosch ICON series lasts longer than Aerotwin—anyone know the right ICON model for the 992?
Appreciate any advice or recommendations!

I would like to know this information as well. I have ICON’s on my Corolla and they work great.

I use Icons on all my cars and have been happy with them over the years.

The Porsche OEM blades look like XpressFit Pro models.

Vinegar and water-best window cleaning solution out there.
