Default 992 Front Suspension Noise

Hi,
I have a 2021 Porsche Carerra S with a front end lift option. Whenever I go over a certain type of bump, like an expansion joint on a bridge, when the front wheels come down after going over bump, there is a distinct 'thunk' sound coming from the front suspension. The sound can be a very distinct 'bang' if the other side of the bump is lower than the front side. I have driven same generation Carerras that do not have the front end lift option over same type of bump and they do not have a 'thunk' sound coming from the front suspension.
Are there other 992 with front end lift option owners with same issue ? My car has been in and out of the dealership 5 times where they have replaced both front shocks, springs and the top plates and car still has the sound. The techs at the dealership cannot resolve the issue.
Comments anyone ???

Interesting you say this, ive had two 992 Demos the first a Targa GTS was fine, the second this a Coupe 4 GTS i get this clonk now n again over bumps and it doesn't sound right its almost when the front is unloaded under slight acceleration over potholes ie singular front wheel bumps, but only now n again.

No, is not normal. Drove other 992's without front end lift option over same roads as I have with mine and have no 'thunk'.

I have the same issue (and FAL). The dealer has replaced the lifts, springs, etc and nothing fixed it. They believed it was not "normal" and worked really hard to address it but there have been numerous reports of this so I'm suspecting it's a common thing and maybe no solution. It's not really an issue and if I knew it was a normal sound, I wouldn't give it a second thought. Still doesn't seem "normal" to me though

My '21 C2S w/ FAL used to clunk, but I haven't heard it in a while. I noticed that it would do this after using the FAL and subsequent lowering and turning into a slight ramp to go into a driveway, convenience store, Etc where load was applied to either the front right or left wheel first.
I stopped using the FAL for a while and mentioned it to Porsche dealer at 1st year service. They failed to hear any clunks and I personally have not heard it since.
I'm guessing that the front suspension components settled in or I just haven't been driving it as hard as I used to.

Nice to hear that Gthal has the same issue as me and that his dealer could not resolve it. It is not normal and sound actually scared my friends when they heard the sound. Have spoken with a couple of people who know suspension issues/sounds (they work in the industry) and they are convinced that the sound is coming from either the shocks or lift, that it reaches end of suspension travel when fully extended and that is creating the 'thunk'. Am sure Porsche will fix for next generation but what about right now and the 992 owners that have the issue ???

This will sound odd, but have them top up the hydraulic fluid level in the FAL cylinders. A low fluid level does not trip any lights or DCT's and if it is low, strange noises will appear. Also, replacing the front shocks does nothing to the FAL cylinders, they are a separate component. Just my .02

The dealer replaced my FAL and the noise didn't go away. Makes me think not fluid related unless the issue was with both FAL's.

Thanks for tip on fluid level. Will have them check and top off if necessary. And yes, understood that the shocks are not connected to the FAL, but could have been the source of the noise. Possible that the shock design for 992 with FAL is faulty as there is a specific shock for 992s with FAL.

Interesting that dealer replaced the FAL and noise did not go away. There must be something 'wrong' somewhere as the noise is not normal. And having FAL is a neat feature, especially since it is connected to GPS so car remembers where you used it and will activate itself if wanted.
